I am a lover of life. As with many artists, I am inspired by life on this planet and far beyond it. Much of my work takes stock of the state of our world. In regard to our collective human experience, I love to hear people’s stories, perspectives, and dreams as they relate to much bigger circumstances such as war and efforts to restore peace.

Through all of the adversities we face, if there is anything we as artists and creatives can instill in generations up-and-coming, my continual hope is that it is a positive viewpoint and space to dream. Dreams are the foundational anchors that allow change to manifest. Dreams are full of hope and optimism for things unseen and unheard. To empower people to dream is to sow the seeds for dynamic innovation that ensures positive change.

This work is inspired by people who dreamed and had vision for a world ladled with equity on every front. I am inspired when reminded of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s timeless I Have a Dream speech and Dr. Maya Angelou’s spellbinding A Brave and Startling Truth.

Through both of those pillars of inspiration in my life, I have written a text to serve as the foundation for this work. May we all continue to empower one another to dream, standing firmly rooted in the light of our destiny.
