Perpetual Noon, Kristin Kuster (2008)
for flute and piano

I find noon to be the most precarious time of day. It is the time at which I hope to cross some “stuff” off my to-do list; yet there always seems to be more on that list deserving of attention in the ensuing hours. I often wish I could freeze noon and make it fully static, non-passing, still. The music of Perpetual Noon reflects my imagined noon, its sounds, if it were more than a mere fleeting moment of every day.
