for string orchestra
This work was composed in honor and recognition of Mr. Francis Elliott. Mr. Elliott was the violin professor at Tennessee Tech University from 1971-2002. In addition to teaching private lessons to violin and viola students, Mr. Elliott taught the Introduction to Strings class to all freshman music majors. He also performed in the 1st violin section of the Bryan Symphony Orchestra at Tennessee Tech for over 50 years. In appreciation of Mr. Elliott’s devotion to his students and Tennessee Tech University, the School of Music and alumni have joined together to form the Francis Elliott Consortium to commission a piece of music and create a scholarship honoring Mr. Elliott.
