Economic Shorts
Duration:
Instrumentation: Soprano saxophone and alto saxophone
Economic Shorts was written for my friends and colleagues Kendra Wheeler and Charlie Chadwell. I think there is a misconception among non-musicians that having a passion for music means that music is all we think about. For me, this is definitely not true, and for me beyond some of my other hobbies such as cooking and way too much Netflix, a major interest of mine is in economics. Now, this does not necessarily just mean the nature of the United States economy and how it reacts to various manipulations. To me, economics introduced to me primarily through podcasts such as Planet Money and Freakonomics is about how people interact with one another through the trading of goods/services/relationships and any other type of interaction we have with friends, family, and strangers.
