Facets was composed for my dear friends and fellow Trilogy Brass Trio members, Maddy Tarantelli and JoDee Davis. We formed Trilogy in 2017 during a time when we all craved connection and community in the form of a chamber group. Throughout the group’s existence, we performed widely across the Midwest at schools and events like the SHE: Festival of Women in Music, and the International Women’s Brass Conference.

This group was a breath of fresh air where we could always find support, love, and care. Each movement of the piece is named after a gemstone. I chose each gemstone intentionally because these gems, like my Trilogy colleagues, provide protection, nurturing and joy.
