Tina Davidson
Always Parisa
Duration:
Instrumentation: Solo cello with string orchestra
Always Parisa, Tina Davidson (2010) 11'
for solo cello and string orchestra
Always Parisa was written for cellist Sara Male in memory of my beloved niece, Parisa who died at the age of 18 in 2009. Her name comes from ancient Persian and means fairy-like, or angelic face.
It is impossible to put into words how much Parisa meant to all her friends and family, as she lived her life with spirit, love and joy. The work is called Always Parisa, which, of course, is so to the point – it is for always.
