Opening the collection, O Come, O Come Emmanuel features gentle counterpoint and luscious harmonic language. Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern’s lyrical and warm language explores the vocal qualities of the quintet with long, flowing lines. Gaudete’s dialogue between modern fanfare and medieval metric impulses closes the collection with a joyful flourish.
