The Sweet Sounds of Snowfall was originally composed for concert band in 2016. Two new arrangements (wind quintet and brass quintet) were created in 2023 to allow more people to connect with the music and share it with their communities.
This winter-inspired piece contains melodic material from two traditional songs: "I Saw Three Ships" and "In dulci jubilo". These melodies were woven in with original material to create a piece with fresh yet familiar sounds.
Instrumentation:
Brass quintet: Trumpet 1-2, horn, trombone, tuba
Woodwind quintet: Flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon
