Transliminal Messaging was composed for my good friend Dr. Maddy Tarantelli and the University of Northern Iowa Horn Choir. Maddy requested a piece that touches on ideas of non-conformity, open mindedness, and acceptance. I titled the work Transliminal Messaging as a way to celebrate concepts of openness, receptiveness to ideas, and vivid imagery when transitioning between conscious and unconscious states of being. While not directly related to the idea of non-conformity, these concepts do align in the mission of acceptance, something that the world needs more of right now.
